Book Julian Marley
Julian Marley is a British-Jamaican reggae artist, songwriter, producer and humanitarian, and a son of reggae icon Bob Marley. Born in London in 1975, he grew up playing keyboards, drums, bass and guitar, and by 1989 was working with half-brothers Ziggy and Stephen Marley in the production company Ghetto Youth International. His debut album, Lion in the Morning (1996), recorded at Tuff Gong Studios in Kingston, launched him onto a world tour, and the next year he toured with Damian Marley on the Lollapalooza festival. A Time and Place followed in 2003, and Awake (2009) earned a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album. At the invitation of the Jamaican government, he and his Uprising band represented the island with a performance at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. After As I Am (2019), his collaboration with Antaeus, Colors of Royal (2023), won the Grammy for Best Reggae Album, giving him one win from three career nominations. He has played Morocco's Mawazine festival, Dhaka and Geneva's Fêtes de Genève, and his shows carry deep roots rhythms and uplifting messages.
