Book Ja Rule

Ja Rule is a Queens-born rapper, singer and actor whose mix of hard-edged hip-hop and melodic R&B hooks made him a dominant hitmaker at the turn of the millennium. Signed to Irv Gotti's Murder Inc Records, he broke through with Venni Vetti Vecci (1999) and its single "Holla Holla" (1999). His next two albums, Rule 3:36 (2000) and Pain Is Love (2001), each reached number one on the Billboard 200. The year 2001 brought a run of Hot 100 smashes: "Put It on Me," "Always on Time" with Ashanti, and his features on Jennifer Lopez's "I'm Real (Murder Remix)" and "Ain't It Funny." Later favorites include "Livin' It Up," "Mesmerize" from The Last Temptation (2002) and "Wonderful" from R.U.L.E. (2004). Between 1999 and 2005 he placed seventeen songs on the Hot 100, and he has earned four Grammy nominations and two American Music Award nominations. On screen he appeared in Half Past Dead (2002) and Shall We Dance? (2004). He later released Pain Is Love 2 (2012). Live, he brings a crowd-pleasing set of early-2000s singalongs that fans know every word to.
