Book Gogol Bordello

Gogol Bordello built its name on theatrical shows and relentless touring. Formed on Manhattan's Lower East Side in 1999 by musicians from around the world and fronted by Ukrainian-born singer Eugene Hütz, the band fuses Romani and Ukrainian folk with punk and dub, driven by accordion and violin. Hütz co-starred with Elijah Wood in the 2005 film Everything Is Illuminated, which also featured the band and its anthem "Start Wearing Purple." The group was the subject of the 2008 documentary Gogol Bordello Non-Stop and recorded "Let's Get Crazy" for Coca-Cola's Euro 2012 campaign. Its ten studio albums run from Voi-La Intruder and Multi Kontra Culti vs. Irony through the breakthrough Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike (2005), Super Taranta!, the Rick Rubin-produced Trans-Continental Hustle and Pura Vida Conspiracy. More recent records include Seekers and Finders, Solidaritine (2022), written in the shadow of the war in Ukraine, and We Mean It, Man! (2026). The band takes its name from the writer Nikolai Gogol, and its mission of carrying Eastern European music into English-speaking culture still powers every tour.
