Book Frenship

Frenship is an American pop duo made up of James Sunderland and Brett Hite, two musicians who met while working at a Lululemon store and bonded over each other's songs. They first drew attention online with "Knives," made with Norwegian producer Matoma, and followed it with "Nowhere" and "Carpet." Their breakout came in June 2016 with "Capsize," a collaboration with singer-songwriter Emily Warren that charted in several countries and climbed to number one on Hype Machine. The follow-up, "1000 Nights," found a home on alternative radio, and the duo released the EP Truce on Columbia Records in September 2016. Frenship's debut album, Vacation, arrived in May 2019, and the 2021 single "All My Friends" reflected on their experience of the pandemic. In October 2024 they released Leavenworth, announcing it as their last album as a duo. Their sound blends glossy electronic production, big emotional choruses and indie warmth, and "Capsize" remains a modern pop staple. A Frenship set brings atmospheric synths, sing-along hooks and the easy chemistry of two longtime creative partners.
