Book Eugene Levy
Eugene Levy is a Canadian actor, comedian and writer celebrated for playing lovably flustered characters across a career that took off in the early 1970s. He came up in the famed 1972 Toronto production of Godspell alongside Martin Short, Gilda Radner, Andrea Martin and Victor Garber, then became a star of the sketch series SCTV from 1976 to 1984. Film audiences know him from the American Pie series that began in 1999, and he appeared in Bringing Down the House (2003). He is a longtime creative partner of Christopher Guest, co-writing and acting in four of Guest's films beginning with Waiting for Guffman (1996). The title song from A Mighty Wind, which he co-wrote, earned him a 2004 Grammy Award in the visual media song category. He played Johnny Rose on Schitt's Creek (2015–2020), which he co-created with his son Dan Levy, winning the 2020 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. His honors also include the Governor General's Performing Arts Award, the Order of Canada and a place on Canada's Walk of Fame. Levy brings gentle, quick-witted comedy to every crowd.
