Book Eckhart Tolle

Eckhart Tolle is a German-born spiritual teacher and author whose books have introduced millions of readers to the practice of living in the present moment. Born Ulrich Leonard Tölle in 1948, he taught German and Spanish at a London language school, studied at the University of London and was pursuing a doctorate at Cambridge in 1977 when, at 29, a profound inner shift led him to leave academia and begin teaching. His breakthrough book, The Power of Now (1997), became a global touchstone for readers seeking calm and clarity, and A New Earth (2005) widened his audience further, helped by the backing of Oprah Winfrey during the 2000s. His other works include Stillness Speaks (2003), the companion volume Practicing the Power of Now, the illustrated Guardians of Being (2009) and the children's book Milton's Secret. Tolle's teaching draws on Zen Buddhism, Christian mysticism, Sufism and Hinduism while staying independent of any single faith. He speaks in a quiet, unhurried style, often pausing for silence, and audiences come away with practical tools for presence, awareness and stress reduction.
