Book Down
Down is a heavy metal supergroup born in New Orleans in 1991. The current lineup features vocalist Phil Anselmo of Pantera and Superjoint Ritual, drummer Jimmy Bower of Eyehategod and Crowbar, guitarist Pepper Keenan of Corrosion of Conformity and bassist Pat Bruders. Their debut album, NOLA, was released in 1995 and drew on slow, heavy Southern sludge, blues and Black Sabbath-style riffs. They followed it with Down II: A Bustle in Your Hedgerow in 2002, Down III: Over the Under in 2007 and Volume V in 2026, four studio albums in all. The band's New Orleans roots show through in their sound, with thick, swampy guitars, powerful vocals and a gritty, hard-hitting rhythm section. Live, Down brings a loud, intense and sweaty show that appeals to fans of classic metal and Southern rock.
