Book Chris Parnell
Chris Parnell is an American actor and comedian with an instantly recognizable voice. He came up through The Groundlings, the celebrated Los Angeles improv troupe, before joining Saturday Night Live, where from 1998 to 2006 he played sketch characters, commercial parodies and celebrity impressions. After SNL he became Dr. Leo Spaceman on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock (2006–2013). His rich baritone has made him a mainstay of animation: he voices hapless dad Jerry Smith on Adult Swim's Rick and Morty, played Cyril Figgis on FX's Archer (2009–2023), narrated PBS Kids' WordGirl for years and voiced Doug on Family Guy. Advertising audiences know him too, as the voice of Hamburger Helper's Lefty, the Progressive Box and Orbit Gum's "America's Dad." Recent film credits include Senior Year (2022) and As We Know It (2023). Early guest spots ranged from Seinfeld and Friends to Murphy Brown. With sharp improv instincts, a deadpan delivery and a voice fans instantly place, Parnell delivers comedy that lands with fans of classic sketch television and modern animated favorites alike.
