Book Chaunté Lowe

Chaunté Lowe is an American high jumper, a four-time Olympian and the national record holder in her event. She competed at the 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games and is the 2008 Olympic bronze medalist, having been elevated to the podium in 2016 after three rivals from that final were disqualified. She also won silver at the 2005 World Championships and gold at the 2012 World Indoor Championships. Her outdoor clearance of 2.05 metres in 2010 stands as the American record, and her 2.02 metres in 2012 is the indoor national mark. Lowe grew up in Riverside, California, where at John W. North High School she captured two National Scholastic Indoor titles and took the 2001 CIF California State Meet high jump title, then finished runner-up in three jumping events in 2002 to help her team win the state crown. She went on to compete for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and an early international breakthrough came with high jump bronze at the 2003 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships. Lowe inspires audiences with resilience, patience and Olympic grit.
