Book Casting Crowns

Casting Crowns won the Grammy for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album with Lifesong and have received eight Grammy nominations, along with American Music Awards for Favorite Contemporary Inspirational Artist in 2007 and 2011 and the GMA Dove Award for Group of the Year. Singer, songwriter and youth pastor Mark Hall founded the contemporary Christian band in 1999 at his Daytona Beach, Florida church, with a lineup that included guitarist Juan DeVevo and violinist Melodee DeVevo. The group relocated to the Atlanta area in 2001, expanded its lineup, and released two independent albums that drew a regional following before signing with Mark Miller's Beach Street Records. Their self-titled 2003 major label debut produced "Who Am I" and "Voice of Truth," and Lifesong (2005) included "Praise You in This Storm." The Altar and the Door (2007), with "East to West," was followed by the Christmas album Peace on Earth (2008), Until the Whole World Hears (2009), Come to the Well (2011) and Thrive (2014). Several members still serve in ministry at a Baptist church in McDonough, Georgia. Their concerts pair worship anthems with Hall's personal storytelling between songs.
