Book Calle 13
Calle 13 is the Puerto Rican alternative hip-hop group built around stepbrothers Residente, the lead vocalist and lyricist, and Visitante, the multi-instrumentalist and beatmaker, with their half-sister iLe, known as PG-13, on backing vocals. The song "Querido FBI" first drew attention on the island, and their self-titled debut, Calle 13 (2005), delivered "Se Vale Tó-Tó" and "¡Atrévete-te-te!" The second album, Residente o Visitante (2007), roamed across genres and reached number one on the Top Latin Albums chart. Los de Atrás Vienen Conmigo (2008) took Album of the Year at the 2009 Latin Grammy Awards, and Entren Los Que Quieran (2010) and Multi Viral (2014) followed. Their honors are remarkable: 21 Latin Grammy Awards, the most of any act, including Best New Artist in 2006, Record of the Year and Album of the Year, plus three Grammy Awards, among them Best Latin Urban Album and Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album. Calle 13 is known for eclectic, unconventional instrumentation that sets it apart from reggaeton, sharp satirical lyrics, and high-energy shows that turn social commentary into a party.
