Book Cafe Tacuba

Café Tacuba came together in 1989 in the Mexico City suburb of Naucalpan and has become a pillar of Latin alternative rock for its inventiveness. They took their name from a historic Mexico City restaurant, and the lineup centers on singer Rubén Albarrán, keyboardist Emmanuel del Real and brothers Joselo and Quique Rangel on guitar and bass. Their sound grew from alternative rock heroes such as The Cure, The Clash and The Smiths while drawing deeply on Mexican musical tradition. Albums include Café Tacuba (1992), Re (1994), Avalancha de éxitos (1996), Revés/Yo soy (1999), Cuatro Caminos (2003), Sino (2007), El objeto antes llamado disco (2012) and Jei Beibi (2017). Cuatro Caminos won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album, one win from four nominations, and the group has also collected Latin Grammy Awards, including rock honors in 2000 and Best Rock Song in 2004. Onstage they bring a theatrical, genre-crossing show that has made them a headline draw across the Spanish-speaking world.
