Book Bobby Orr
Bobby Orr is a Canadian hockey legend who transformed the role of the defenceman with his speed, vision and scoring touch. Spotted by NHL scouts as a young teen in Ontario, he starred with the Oshawa Generals before joining the Boston Bruins in 1966, a club that had not won the Stanley Cup since 1941. Orr won the Calder Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year in 1967 and led Boston to championships in 1970 and 1972, scoring the Cup-clinching goal and winning the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP both times. He remains the only defenceman to win the scoring title, with Art Ross Trophies in 1970 and 1975, and he captured eight straight James Norris Memorial Trophies as the league's top defenceman along with three consecutive Hart Trophies as MVP. He was also MVP of the 1976 Canada Cup. After 12 NHL seasons with Boston and Chicago, he entered the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1979 at 31, the youngest inductee at that time. An Officer of the Order of Canada and author of Orr: My Story (2013), he brings humility, humor and hockey history.
