Book Billy Strings

Billy Strings is the American guitarist, singer and songwriter who has become the most electrifying name in modern bluegrass. Born William Apostol in 1992, he cut his teeth in Michigan playing paid gigs with mandolinist Don Julin before moving to Nashville, and the International Bluegrass Music Association named him Momentum Instrumentalist of the Year in 2016. His breakout album Turmoil & Tinfoil (2017) put his blazing flatpicking in front of a wide audience, and Rolling Stone tipped him as an artist to know. After signing with Rounder Records he released Home (2019), followed by Renewal (2021), ME/AND/DAD (2022), Highway Prayers (2024) and So Much for Goodbyes (2026). He has won three Grammy Awards from eight nominations, all for Best Bluegrass Album, for Home, Live Vol. 1 and Highway Prayers. Strings has shared stages with Phish, Bob Weir, Del McCoury, Dierks Bentley and Sam Bush, and his marathon concerts mix tradition with jam-band adventure, long improvisations and jaw-dropping speed. He draws fervent crowds who come for musicianship that feels both rooted and wide open.
