Anthony Anderson is a comic actor and TV host best known as Andre "Dre" Johnson, the proud and hilariously anxious dad at the heart of ABC's Black-ish, which ran from 2014 to 2022 and on which he also served behind the camera. He also played NYPD Detective Kevin Bernard on NBC's Law & Order. Anderson started out leading the teen series Hang Time and made his film debut in Liberty Heights (1999), then became a familiar face in Big Momma's House (2000), Barbershop (2002), Kangaroo Jack (2003), Agent Cody Banks 2 (2004), Hustle & Flow (2005), The Departed (2006), Transformers (2007) and Scream 4 (2011). He voiced Ray Ray on The Proud Family and starred in the sitcoms All About the Andersons and Guys with Kids. A natural host, he fronted ABC's To Tell the Truth, leads Fox's We Are Family, hosted the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2024 and was named host of Netflix's revival of Star Search. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2020 and was named a Disney Legend in 2022. Anderson brings big laughs, infectious energy and a seasoned emcee's command of the room.
