Book Amanda Bynes

Amanda Bynes is an American actress who became one of the defining comedic faces of late-1990s and 2000s youth entertainment. She started performing professionally at age seven, and a Nickelodeon producer who caught her set at the Los Angeles Laugh Factory brought her onto the sketch series All That (1996 to 2000). Her gift for characters earned her a spin-off, The Amanda Show (1999 to 2002), and the two series brought her several Kids' Choice Awards. She was also a regular on Figure It Out from 1997 to 1999. As a teenager she headlined The WB sitcom What I Like About You (2002 to 2006) and starred in the films Big Fat Liar (2002) and What a Girl Wants (2003). Her later screen work includes She's the Man (2006), Hairspray (2007), Living Proof (2008) and Easy A (2010), after which she stepped away from acting. Bynes remains a beloved nostalgia icon whose sharp timing and fearless physical comedy helped shape a generation of sketch and teen comedy.
