Book Alejandro Sanz
Alejandro Sanz has won four Grammy Awards, all for Best Latin Pop Album, for No Es lo Mismo, El Tren de los Momentos, Paraíso Express and #ElDisco, and he holds a run of Latin Grammys that includes Album of the Year three times. The Spanish singer, songwriter and composer is known for flamenco-tinged ballads and has stretched into pop, rock, funk, R&B and jazz. After releasing his first album at nineteen, he broke through in Spain with Viviendo Deprisa (1991), and his 1997 album Más took him international. El Alma al Aire followed in 2000, selling a million copies in its opening week and taking Album of the Year at the Latin Grammys. His 2002 MTV Unplugged, the first by any Spanish artist, repeated that Album of the Year win. His 2005 duet with Shakira, "La Tortura," topped charts in several countries and won the Latin Grammy for Record of the Year. The Latin Recording Academy named him Person of the Year in 2017, he received the ASCAP Latin Heritage Award in 2011 and Billboard honored him with its Latin Music Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024.
